High Intensive Focus Ultrasound (HIFU) is a noninvasive and non-surgical procedure. The principle of treatment is that high-energy focused ultrasonic waves are concentrated and transmitted to a point of heated tissue up to 60-70°C.HIFU technology can reach the skin's underlying layer - the subdermal layer, above the muscular layer, i.e., the superficial muscular aponeurotic system, which is about 4.5mm below the epidermis. This muscle layer causes muscle relaxation and wrinkles.High Intensive Focused Uis a non-invasive and non-surgical treatment. The mechanism is to to deliver high intensive focused ultrasound to one point and heat the tissue to 60-70°C. HIFU technology can directly reach the bottom layer of the skin - below the dermis and above the surgical layer, that is, the superficial aponeurotic system located about 4.5mm below the wound (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System). This muscle layer is accountable for for muscle relaxation and wrinkles.
HIFU is currently available in three different waves that can reach different depths of the skin, 1.5mm, 3mm, and 4.5mm respectively.
The technology releases focused ultrasonic energy in a piecemeal manner, which makes 4.5mm (i. e. SMAS layer) under the skin produce a thermosetting point. When the tissue is raised to 60-70°C, it tightens the inner layer of the skin and produces an immediate lifting effect. It also stimulates the tissue to produce new collagen and supports the skin's subcutaneous structure.
